My boss just called me into her office. I applied for this internal position, and as soon as she asked me in I knew what she was going to say 🙁 She said that she had to give the job to someone elese internally…someone a bit more senior than me. I know there are some politics involved…I wish it was based on just talents alone 🙁 Who knows when there will be another position to apply for…Ugh…how am I suppose to move up in my industry?!
Pretty bummed. I shoulda known it was going to be a less than stellar day when I woke up already feeling grumpy for no apparent reason. I even went to the gym with my hubby before work to get me out of my grumpy moond, but it didn’t help.

Awww! hugs, girlie!! That is rough. I am sorry you didn’t get it. I totally admire you for applying though! Waiting for opportunities sucks, especially these days because they are so few and far between. I totally understand your pain there. Sorry things didn’t work out this time, but I wish you good luck in the future!!

I’m sorry to hear that and all I can say is I think everything happens for a reason. I strongly believe that we don’t choose our careers, they choose us. Because if we fail at something we were trying to achieve in a professional sense, that probably means it wasn’t the best fit for us to begin with.
Keep your head up and keep trying! Something is bound to come along. And the more you go through things like this, the more you will really learn what you want out of your career through trial and error.

AH sorry to hear that, hopefully that just means there is a much better opportunity waiting for you 🙂

That totally sucks but I agree with Moderndaisy, you will end up where you are supposed to be. Also, as you sadly learned, talent has almost nothing to do with hiring. It’s all who you know and politics, which makes it especially hard to take. That said, keep trying and you’ll find what you’re looking for 🙂
