Pretty much sounded like a dream position and something I’d really enjoy. I mentioned on here a few days ago that I have a touch of social anxiety and that catches up with me in interviews. I thought a good portion of the interview went well, but there were a couple tough questions that caught me off guard. My mind pretty much went blank and I fumbled through my answers. I’m just not a good interviewer.
I know everything happens for a reason, but I feel like I’m going to be stuck at my low-paying job forever. I enjoy what I do, but the cons outweigh the pros. Sigh.
Just decided to vent. 🙂

Sorry to hear that! There are so many reasons to not be selected for a job; try not to take it personally. It never hurts to ask for feedback to find out if there is anything you could improve upon, and most employers look very highly upon people who do so (I’ve been on a few hiring committees in the past and we loved this!). I’m sure your perfect job will fall right into your lap sooner or later!

Do you know for sure you didn’t get the job? Did they say when they’ll let you know?
I read your previous post regarding the job interview and you said there was 2 questions that you stumbled on. I don’t know if a potential employer would totally dismiss your qualifications because of that. It’s been 5 days since the interview, maybe they’re taking their time reviewing all the applicants.

@Ill Be Mrs B: Got the Dear Johnny letter today. I’m sure what else it could have been. I feel like I said a lot of what I wanted to. On the other hand, my anxiety can get the best of me and makes it hard for me to connect with the interviewer how I would like. Maybe that was a contributing factor.

I was trying to be positive but since you got a Dear John letter the job was offered to someone else.
Would I be to personal if I ask if you’ve addressed your anxiety with your doctor? If so, do you take meds? I don’t have anxiety but if I’m asked questions without being prepared I can stumble through my answers.
Do you have any more interviews coming up? Maybe you can sit down with a friend/coach to “practice” with.
