Looking for work is really hard on the self-esteem. Don’t take it too personally, the right situation will come around.

This economy really is awful. I’m so sorry that you didn’t get the job…but keep working at it!

I’m so sorry. The job market is awful out there and the competition is intense. Most likely, the reason you’re not moving forward with them has nothing to do with you.

Have a good cry, eat some ice cream (if that’s your thing), and apply for the next one. The more your resume is out there, the more chances employers have to discover how fabulous you are.

I know it sounds cliche but I really do believe that when the role is right for you, things will fall into place.

I’m sorry hun! I’m still in school, but I’ve watched Fiance get turned down many times… stupid economy is not doing anyone any favors. Keep your head up!

Have you considered Temping?  I was a temp for 9 months and now have an AMAZING job that I LOVE at the same company.  It took me 3 different temp jobs for one to hire me permanently but the income is much better than unemployment.

And, if you do decide to temp do not limit yourself to one recruiter.  I had 3.

I second @lvecchione completely! I temped last year with 2 recruiters and worked nonstop. One of them got me in the door of a large international corporation and I was hired for a permanent role after 3 months temping. If you do decide to temp, just remember to call them every few days and remind them of your availability. You want to be in the forefront of their mind when considering applicants.

It is really rough out there right now.

I’ve been looking for work since October. I’ve had a few interviews and been passed over.

I’ve also applied for over 100 jobs and never hear back from most of them.

Keep your chin up and keep applying, just remember it only takes one!

Good job thought coming to you.

If they didn’t pick  you, then it must not have been the right job anyway. Eventually the right job will come along at the right time.

I got a new job in October, but before that I was applying/interviewing for a year–just keep at it!
