Since everyone’s body is different it is hard to find something is just perfect for you. What I have done and what many people I know have done in the past, (a coworker lost 25 pounds in 4 months!!!) is not limit yourself to what you can eat or can’t eat, just work on portion sizes. It is really simple when you sit down to eat read on the side of the box, back of the chips, on the dip and eat the minimum or less. For example, I could probably sit down and eat a bag of potato chips (not a big bag but one that you could buy at the gas station) but if I read that only 10 chips or so is a serving and that is 120 calories then I only eat that! I am eating enough for the craving to go away and yet I am not eating enough to put me over the edge in calories. I have found that to work. My coworker did weight watchers a few years ago so knew the point system well and she followed that on her own. I hope this helps a little. Just remember don’t limit yourself just limit your portions!! Eat more then 3 times a day eat a little meal every few hours. Train your stomach to shrink so when you sit down to a meal you get full faster.

What kind of workouts are you doing?  I’m having some success now that I’ve added yoga to my workout plan.  Cardio alone was not doing it for me.

I’m not very good at dieting, so instead of restricting myself, I switched to a more whole grain diet.  No processed sugars, white rice or pasta…  I cut the meat in my diet more than in half.  I make sure I get 30 grams of fiber a day.

I’m also using http://www.fitday.com to track what I eat and my workouts.  It helps me be more aware of what I’m putting in my mouth.

Finally, I’m holding myself accountable to friends.  I know they’ll be asking, so that helps keep me honest… And at holiday meals, I’m not worrying too much about what I’m eating.  After all, I’m being pretty good most of the time!

I need to kick start my diet as well. In the past I did Weight Watchers, it worked really well for me, it is just really hard to start. I used it 2 years ago for Spring Break and lost bout 15 pounds in a few months time. Lately I have been trying to go back on, but since my wedding is 2 years away I havent been as motivated. I also like using a work out buddy, one of my bridesmaids is helping me do fun activities to lose wight, we started hiking together, but now that it is cold we have been slacking. We are thinking of using Tae-Bo we used to do it in high school, during hte winter months.

I used http://www.sparkpeople.com/ for a while to stay motivated.  It sounds a little like doctorgirl’s fitday.com.  I liked SparkPeople because it has online tools you can use to track your exercise/diet, and it also has online communities which are a great resource for inspiration!  Everyone on there is very supportive and willing to reach out and give you that little push to get you motovated.  (They have several bridal groups, too!)

So this may sounds a bit weird but I SWEAR by Lean Cuisines. Have one for lunch and special K for breakfast and its amazing what a difference it is. I add extra frozen veggies to fill me up.

Also Jillian’s 30 Day Shred is a great backup for those days when you just can’t get to the gym, you know the days when you say "oh I’ll just take a walk when I get home" then put on PJs as soon as you get home? Having a plan B leaves no excuse.

I use spark people too. I recently got the 30 day shred (also).  I’m just trying not to get too focused on numbers and try to get into the metality of healthy is best!  it’s hard to stay motivated, but i think lifestyle change is key in maintaining a healthy and positive weight and outlook!

I’ve been delaying this part of wedding prepartion but I know now is the time to start.  I bought the 30 day shred which I plan to start as soon as I finish finals this week and I don’t have 14 hour days by the time I finish class.  I’m also watching portions and have cut diet soda out of my diet.  I’m sticking to water other than a cup of coffee in the morning.  We’ll see how it goes.  I’m worried about the holidays too though!
