An AVR is a branded OEC essentially. Most OECs  diamonds are antiques — AVRs are not — and AVRs are cut for optimum light performance. So they are stones that are currently being produced, are modeled after the OEC style, but have optimum light performance.

August vintage is a brand name, they use new diamond rough and basically cut it to look old, but with better light performance. August vintage cushion(AVC) is an antique cushion cut, and august vintage round(AVR) is an old european cut.

My ring sounds like the one you’re looking at! 2.4 ct OEC but mine is an M/N. I don’t notice the warmth as much as I did when I first tried it on(First picture is at the jeweler so you can really see it) Kinda wish I had gone warmer to be honest. But I still love it!

Post pics! Post pics! And congrats on your new $$ situation to obtain such a wonderful want!

I, too, would be partial to the antique stone as opposed to an AVR. fwiw

That’s what mine is!! except white gold prongs haha.  We got our ring in Oklahoma and it was sold to us as a round brilliant. but I saw one that looked just like it on jewels by grace.

Just wanted to say — when I was looking at rings (I have an AVC), the Good Old Gold YouTube videos were super helpful. If I remember, they have comparison videos showing AVRs vs non-branded OECs in different magnifications, types of light, etc.
