My boyfriend and I were looking for a 1ct round solitaire e ring. We ended up finding a diamond that was .91 and decided on it. I’m not disappointed I won’t be getting an actual 1 ct because the .91 ct is a beautiful stone. I have only seen the loose stone and not in the setting on my finger. I want it to be a surprise I’m just curisous to if there is a visual difference between .91 ct and 1 ct. Pictures of stones around .91 ct and finger size would be great!

No one will be able to tell a .9 of a difference mentally people want a 1 carat because it is a standard size but .91 will look pretty much the same as a 1 carat.
The difference in MM is less than .25 of a MM not really notable to the naked eye.

Nope. Not noticeable. Colour cut and clarity all effect the ‘pop’ too, so by going a teeny bit under the 1ct mark you’d have got a better deal. The price hikes disproportionately to the carat weight at the whole carat mark as 1ct is what people want to see on the certificate. Wise move you’ve made going for .91 I say.

Not noticable. Also, you are paying a premium for that extra .10 carat so you are actually likely buying something at a great price point for what you are getting. Well done!

This should help you see it… but no not a difference very visible to the naked eye or every day life.
.94 here on 5.5 or 5.25 ( I cant remember)

I think you and your boyfriend made a smart choice. The price jump is huge between 0.9 and 1 carat. Once the loose stone set on a ring, nobody can tell the different between 0.9 and 1 cart …

I don’t think you’ll be able to tell the difference at all. Here’s my 0.91 carat oval diamond. I think it’s a great size! My finger is 5.5

Nope. Smart choice. It’s called a “baby carat”. Due to the cut of rounds, you’ll find many different mm sizes for 1 carat stones. Unless someone is going to study the depth (with a caliper), it will never come up again.

.90 carats, color E, vs1, size 5.5, triple excellent. I think mine faces up larger than it is. Hope this helps! Mine is sst very low, I think if you set it higher, it’ll look bigger

What’s the price difference? That’s the question you should be asking yourself. If it’s not huge, the question is “What’s the difference between $___ and $___?” That’s what I would be asking myself, considering our finances. Full disclosure, my center stone is 1.04 ct.

Mine is a .80 and people always refer to her as a full carat. I dont think anyone notices

Beautiful rings ladies! Thanks so much the pictures. They all look like the 1 carats I have seen!

Sorry it’s kinda blurry but here’s my .94 on 7.5 finger

You would never notice. Higher quality .9 over 1 any day.
