I really love Mae for a girl, and it is a family name. But my husband dislikes it– boo.

My name is Malia (pronounced muh-lee-uh), and I have never in my entire life met someone with the same name, let alone the same spelling. I am in love with the name Elayna Sue (my mom’s middle name is Sue), and calling her Ellie.

@mrstj2b: Malia is moving up the name charts lately as it’s one of the Obama girls’ names.

I like Rosalind, Rosemary, Rufus, Reginald (I guess I like R names…)

For boys I like: Asher, Avery, Eli, Leo, Levi, Luke, Reed, and Sage.

For girls I like: Abigail, Chloe, Echo, Elizabeth, Lark, Livy (or Olivia), and Lyra.

Fiance and I have friends with a little girl named Flannery 🙂 it totally fits her too, definitely unique but still cute.

PS. I keep my list on behindthename.com Very cool website and I fun way to keep the names you like in one place and find new ones!

I pulled out my book o’ names for you. These are ones that my partner vetoed 🙂 (I feel strange about posting the ones we are planning on using). We tend toward older names- not sure if thats what you’re going for or not.

I will probably name a girl Emlyn.  Maybe spelled Emelyn.

Boy is definitely Roman.

@bananarama: Isn’t “Wash” short for “Washburne”? I think the character’s full name is Hobart Washburne, or something similar. Yes, I’ve just outed myself as a Browncoat.

@mrstj2b:  My sister-in-law’s name is Malia!

My name is Trista.  I’ve never met another one, though every now and then I get a “my best friend’s sister’s niece’s name is Trista.”
