I have four bridesmaids, one is my sister who is the Maid/Matron of Honor, she is plus size and 5’10”, the other 3 are all petite, (under 5’3″ and really thin compaired to by sis and me, but im 5’1″…) and one requested no strapless
I cant find a dress that all of them like… and that is under $100 in dark purple and floor length, strapless… and not online, so they can try them on (but if i can find them in a store and order online the same dress we can do that)…. That just seems like toooo many requirements LOL, i have seen alot of pictures of mixmatched Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses but all have been short dresses not long, Do you think it would look good to have mixmatched floor length dresses???… i dont know…..
What type of dress would look good on both body types? Any suggestions???

A line dresses seem to work for all body types.

@KayNMonty2011: Both are very good suggestions, i think i picked out both of those and showed them to my sister and she didnt like either one π But i do think Im going to keep with the A-line, you are right it will look best on all body types. Thank you!

My girls had mismatched dresses and my Maid/Matron of Honor had a floor length dress. There were actually a couple of different floor length dresses in the line. You should check out Bill Levkoff. The website doesn’t do the dresses too much justice, but trust me they looked great on and the material was good quality. The carry them in many bridal stores π

@molliechristine: I ordered swatches from them! The red wasn’t right for me, but I also got a purple one from them and the color was to die for! It was a very vibrant, rich tone of purple π They are a bit pricey for floor length though… Also not good for girls with a larger bust. That’s why we didn’t go with them. They are absolutely gorgeous though.

@HeatherShane: There are other places that have these dresses I was just trying to find an example becasue I didn’t know what the style is called. Glad I couid help! I know I spent more time worrying about and picking their dresses than I did mine! haha
@west.coast.blonde: My girls aren’t getting these dresses I found dresses at shabbyapple.com for them to pick from since the style of the dresses go with the over all feel and theme of my wedding.

I have different sized BMs too… 2 of them are size 2, one is a 12 and the other is a size 22. I chose Alfred Angelo’s 7017 and it seroiusly flattered everyone. It’s a little above 100.00 but may be worth considering?

You can always do a different dress for the Maid/Matron of Honor if you want.
My bridesmaids are all different sizes.. petite, tall, string bean, and a bit larger.. I wanted the uniformed look so I looked up a bunch of dresses and found a few they all liked, and had them try them onand see which one passed for all body types. We ended up going with this one, some of the girls are heming up the knees though and they are all raising the sash higher… but it really does look good on all of them

Just realised you are looking for floorlenght so nevermind the link π But if you go through enough I’m sure you can find one that will suit them all. It just might take some time π

@molliechristine: I was about to recommend the same thing, except not that site. I’ve heard some negative things about twobirds, my girls are wearing convertible dresses from an etsy designer, CoralieBeatrix.
My BMs are anywhere from 5′-5’8, size 0 to size 10 and I also had a request for no strapless. These dresses are great and they’ll wear them again (I already own it!)

My girls were also a variety of sizes, ranging from a 2/4 to a 22/24. We chose a Bill Levkoff a-line, two piece gown, with thin straps. I really think it was flattering on all body types! Here’s a couple pics:

I also had a mix of body types but I do not like the mismatched look. These are Impressions and were $154. We got a different Impressions dress for the Jr Bridesmaid or Best Man and added straps (always an option with a strapless dress).
Note–this is your wedding. When you agree to be a Bridesmaid or Best Man, you agree to wear whatever dress the bride picks. Please ignore their demands and get what you like. You will NEVER get four women to agree on anything:) If you feel that their price point concerns are valid, you should be respectful of that or pay the difference. Otherwise–bride’s choice!
