Different Color Diamond in Wedding and Engagement Ring?

The diamonds in the Zales ring are SI-I in clarity and I colour… in some lighting situations you may notice their warmth next to your very white F engagement stone. This may not bother you – but it would be good to compare the overall quality of your e-ring stones in different lights. This may not be possible until you have the band – I’d recommend you make sure there is a solid return and refund policy prior to purchasing.

“I” color diamonds will have more of a tint. It is hard to say if the color will be noticeable. I think it may be to the discerning eye, but most people probably will not notice. I did notice on the specs that the clarity range can be I1 which means there could be some visual spots and inclusions on some of the diamonds. Just look at it closely, the inclusions hopefully are covered by prongs or very small! Its a gorgeous band but I do think you could get a higher quality band for less at a different store than Zales.

Beautiful band. For 3,000 though, I would want better specs then that ring at Zales. I am pretty confident you can have that made to what you want cheaper elsewhere.

I would strongly discourage you from purchasing from Zales, Jared, Kay, etc. They are well known to sell subpar diamonds and shoddy setting with poor workmanship.  Check out a reputable local (not mall/cain) stores or consider purchasing from one of the many reputable online retailers.  ID jewelery is in NYC and has an online presence and you will get a better product at a better price.  They even do custom work that is high quality at very reasonable prices.  But those mall/chain stores are not the place to buy.  GL

I think you should at least stick with a ‘G’ color grade in diamonds to go with your F.  That is an incredible mark up for lower quality diamonds and I think it is just too low in color.  I have seen similar rings on my jewelers website, in that price range with higher spec.  They can do a design similar to this with the smaller diamonds in-between for probably the same price and more likely ‘G’ VS2.  Check out Debebian’s…you can email [email protected] if you want to get a comparable price. I would get a few quotes before settling on the Zales ring.
