I was wondering if anyone has a metal like white gold for their engagement ring, but then a yellow gold wedding band? My boyfriend and I have been discussing getting married for some time now and have decided to elope. My grandmother recently gifted me her yellow gold wedding band as she can no longer wear it due to Parkinson’s and swelled knuckles. I’m happy to say her and my grandfather are still together (have been for over 60 years) so the band has quite a lot of sentimental value. I currently wear it on my left hand middle finger and although I never thought of that style I really do love it. My boyfriend and I have discussed the ring and I’ve decided it will be my wedding band. Since its a little on the wider side (closer to 2.5mm-3mm I’d estimate) I was thinking I’d use it as an engagement ring/wedding band combo. However, I’m having a slightly hard time letting go of the idea of a white gold round engagement ring with a little bit of sparkle. So my question is do any of you have different color metals for your engagement ring/wedding band? Is one of yours also an antique that changed what you envisioned?

Or maybe a a two tone gold engagement ring that tied them together stylistically. Like this ?

I love the mixed metals look; it gives it so much depth and character. I’m biased since that’s what I have but I think it looks awesome!

My e-ring is rose gold and my wedding ring is white gold. I love the contrast and think 2 tone sets are much more common these days!

futuremrshickman : I love the mixed metal look and did it on purpose. My e-ring is 14k white gold, my wedding band is 10k rose gold (I went with 10k for added strength and a stronger copper tone). I also currently wear a solid jade ring as a guard ring and m waiting on a silver and garnet one to take its place.

Sorry for the huge pic. I chose a thin rose gold band and I’m hoping to get a thin rose gold eternity band for the top!

I have a 2mm white gold engagement ring and my wedding band is 5mm 18k rose gold. I LOVEEEEEEE the contrast of the different metals as well as the size difference in the widths

I love mixing metals! I plan to wear a gold wedding band, too and have had a time tracking down ring inspo pics. Have you read this thread yet? https://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/show-me-your-mismatched-e-ring-and-band/

This is no longer the ring or band that I have now, but I loved my white gold solitaire with my dainty yellow gold diamond band. I am thinking of doing it again. Right now Currently I have a white gold solitaire and am considering a plain rosegold band? Best of luck, whatever you do it will look gorgeous.

gray15 : I got it in a jewelry store in the diamond district on 47th st in nyc. It’s pretty straightforward though so you could probably get it anywhere or order it online. It’s a 2mm wide rose gold half eternity band set with round diamonds. I think it was $900.00.

This is just costume jewelry band with my e ring, but I really like mixed metals. I was playing around with different band ideas.
