I say go for it! I’m contemplating between gold and silver (but in a non traditional dress) — it’s so much cheaper to buy outside of the “bridal” stores too! Designer dresses for less than $1000 with serious alterations if needed? Um, yes! Add a veil and voila! Bride!

If you can please ignore my exhusband in this picture… that is exactly what I did in my previous wedding. What I’m wearing is a very very pale pink bridesmaid dress. It was absolutely perfect for our beach wedding.

Now I got rid of him… if only I could get this skinny again we’d be in busness. 😉

As far as other color dresses, there are SOOOO many out there. I would say the key is to start looking at what colors you want and what style you want. Then decide on a price. From there, you can check major department stores, evening wear places, some bridal shops, ETSY has some really awesome alternatives too! Once you step away from traditional white poofy gowns, the floodgates open to soo many other options! Of course, tradition has it’s place in some girls hearts, I just like color too much to wear white! I figure metallic would be a good comprimise. Pink seems to be a more popular wedding runway color these days though too! You might just find something fantastic since your timing seems to be perfect!

I love the idea of being unique! Unfortunately, I fell in love with a traditional ivory dress. 🙂
