@Helloemi:  As long as the families are civil to each other it’s fine. I had the same situation and I was super nervous at first but they ended up getting along really well.

Fiance and I are quite nervous about a similar situation because our parents have never met and they will meet for the first time only 2 days before the wedding. The reason for this is that they live in different countries, so it’s not like they had the opportunity to meet before. 

In my family we are all very close, loving and we can get quite loud and his family is more on the serious, quiet and all about business side. Plus we are adding a language difference on top of that! We are just crossing our fingers that we all find something to talk about and that it doesn’t get very awkward at the rehearsal dinner!
