I was told by my caterer that we could choose 4 different flavors of wedding cake to be served. This sounds incredible to us. He picks 2 and I pick 2 not sure what yet, but it will be so much fun to have the variety. Do other wedding caterers do this?

Yes. Most other caters will work with you on cake flavors.

Yes, I think most bakers do this. We are having two flavors; chocolate cake with cookies and cream cheese mousse and lemon cake with marionberry cream cheese mousse.

Most bakers will let you do this. Mine recommended not to “because everyone will want to try all the flavors.”
Of course, my family is not like that at all. But, also, our one flavor is so good that we were fine with just one. Mmm cappucino.

We could have had as many as five, but decided on three after an informal poll of our friends. Surprisingly, even though we gave them some more “exotic” options, everyone pretty much chose” white wedding (with raspberry filling), chocolate chip fudge (with chocolate mousse filling), and brown sugar banana (with cream cheese frosting), so we opted to just offer these three.

We’re doing 4 different flavors – white, chocolate raspberry, lemon and casata. Our reception site also provides a big fruit and pastry table so hopefully everyone will find something they like. I was a little worried about people wanting to try all of the flavors and there not being enough cake to go around, but I think we’ll be OK. If not, I’ll be ok with the fact that everyone loved the cake so much that they ate it all!

We have three different flavors/icing combinations. But it’s not through our caterer. We used a bakery.

We are doing two different flavors. My choice was chocolate cake with chocolate mousse filling, FI’s choice was white cake with raspberry and bavarian cream filling.
