Im trying to decided if I should have my Maid/Matron of Honor in a different style dress from the other bridesmaids. OR should I have all my girls in the same dress, but my Maid/Matron of Honor can have a different color. Plz Help!!!!!
Plz ignore the colors of these dress. We have settled with the color pallet as Cobalt blue and grey (so imagine these dress as that). Maybe the Bridesmaid or Best Man in the blue dresses and the Maid/Matron of Honor in a grey dress.
Is this a cohesive look?
My Dress will be the infamous ML 5108

And this is Maid/Matron of Honor

And this is will be Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses

Plum4getful: Personally, I hate it when the Maid/Matron of Honor has a different color dress. I think it’s fine to have them in different dresses though!

they all look very simlar to me. I personally wouldn’t want my BMs in a dress that so closely matched mine.
I also don’t see a huge difference between the Bridesmaid or Best Man and Maid/Matron of Honor dress, I think different colours is enough (i’m also not a huge fan of bubble hems – I find them hard to walk in/easy to trip on)

I think your bridesmaids dresses are way too similar to your dress.

I think maybe you should have your bridesmaid in short dresses so that way you stand out better and maybe for the moh you could just have her hold different color bouquets. I’m really not a big fan of the bridal party not being matchy. I don’t think it looks good in pictures. The only people who should stand out are the bride and groom not the moh and bridesmaid. To me they are the same thing. The only difference is the moh walks last.

Plum4getful: I love the style of all the dresses, I think they’ll go together well and look great! You will obviously still stand out, as you are clearly the bride in white. I’m not big about having a different color for the Maid/Matron of Honor, but if that’s what you want then go for it!! 🙂

Plum4getful: Truthfully I’m barely seeing the difference between the two styles of dresses you’ve shown. I do think the dress you have for your Maid/Matron of Honor would get dated very quickly with the bubble bottom and don’t gernerally tend to lik that style.
As for having your Maid/Matron of Honor stand out I’d suggest having all the girls in the same style cobalt blue dress and they dress hers up wit a sasah or ribbon in silver/grey to make it all cohesive.
However I have to agree with the
georgetownbee these dress options are way too similar to your dress and the fact they are satin makes them feel more formal than your dress. I’d suggest going with Chiffon or mesh dresses for your girls, or even lace.

@lalavla thank you for your input. You are totally right the formal feel of satin. I never thought of that.
