I chose the color Wisteria from Davids Bridal. The problem is that I can’t match this color to anything in ANY line. I have two bridesmaids that do not like anything in davids bridal but their wisteria does not match anything in any other line
My fiance does not like the wisteria either so now he is choosing black vests for his side. I asked for input for colors but everyone was intent on some type of purple. Originally, it was lapis then lilac but lapis is too dark and lilac is too light so here I am with wisteria.
I am trying to convince my fiance and his family that it is ok to have different shades of purple for the bridesmaids and for the groomsmen to wear a complementary color but everyone is telling me that the pictures will look like a circus. Help!!!!
Do you think that their right? Does anyone have any pictures of a wedding where different shades of a color were used?
In additon to that, I know that I will not be able to match the table linens.

My color for most of my bridesmaids is Wisteria as well. It was the in-between purple as you said. My friend wanted to wear another dress she had from a different store but her color purple did not match any of Davids Bridal so I had her a buy a new dress. It is your wedding so just tell the 2 bridesmaids to pick a Davids dress they have like at least 40 dresses to choose from. If they are going to be that picky I would not want them in the wedding. Two different colors of purple look fine I was going to do that but did pool blue instead.

I don’t mind the different shades of purple but my fiance is adamant that we have one shade. I think it will look good in the pictures to have different shades of purple.

It will look fine! Plenty of people do mismatched Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses!
Here are some examples (I tried to find purple ones but if you google, you’ll find a ton with other colors):

I used different shades of purple. We used lapis for our dresses, but there were tons of different shades of purple everywhere. As long as you carry the different shades through out then it will make sense. For instance our centerpieces had all different shades of purple flowers and we had a candy buffet displayed that was all differnt in color. It looked great!

Hey There – I initally chose a Wisteria as my color because I love Bari Jay dresses and they have a number of options in that color. My bridesmaids are all wearing a color similar (Victorian Lilac – Bill Levkoff) and my Maid/Matron of Honor is wearing Plum. I love the contrast and the fast that she can stand out a little bit. Our flowers will be all shades of purple to incorporate this theme. Good Luck.
By the way – our tux’s are from Men’s Wearhouse and they have a plum purple that corresponds nicely with our color pallette.

I am leaning heavily toward mismatched purple-y dress for my five bridesmaids. Here is my inspiration board using Alfred Sung dresses:
