i’m seriously contemplating having my bridesmaids pick out their own dresses from the same place, (David’s ) in the same length and color.. and just leaving it at that..
does anyone have pictures of this type of wedding i can check out? I am a bit concerned about the differing fabrics…

The dresses may look different in the light and in your photos as light bounces off satin for example much differentky than chiffon. There are many great pics online.
Just google bridemaids in same color different fabrics.

I think it’s a really great and fun idea… Unless your wedding is super formal I think it would look really great… each of your girls is different, after all!

There is another way of doing this while still maintaining some formality. Many dress designers offer different styles in the same length and fabric.
Mine are from JCrew but I know lots of bridal designers do the same thing.

I don’t think it would be terrible at all for you to ask them to all wear the same color and have the same fabric! That way they’ll all look like exactly the same shade, but they’ll still get some say in it. Good luck!

The great part about doing this is that you can find different styles for different body types so everyone is comfortable but it still has a uniform look with the same length and fabric.

I personally would give the girls fabric option(s) in addition to length and color. I love the mismatched bridesmaid look, but I think there needs to be enough cohesiveness to make it work. For instance, IMO, satin and chiffon don’t go well together, so I wouldn’t want to leave it as open-ended as you’re suggesting.
BUT, if you really don’t mind the differing fabrics, go for it.

I had different styles with the same color and fabric. These are the dresses the girls selected, but I don’t have my pro photos back with a pic of them altogether IRL.

I have a Pinterest board for mismatched bridesmaid dresses. I guess that is weird because i did not have BM’s, but i love the different styles and cannot stop pinning those pictures, lol.

Yes I agree with PPs, keep them in the same fabric. David’s bridal has a lot of selection, so just say to keep the same length, colour and fabric and they will still have lots of selection

I went with Dessy/After Six dresses. I basically picked out a bunch of styles in the same colour, length and fabric, and chose 3 for my Maid/Matron of Honor and then let her choose one. Then I kept the leftover 2 from her options, and moved them to my first bridesmaids options and let her choose, and so on….
It worked out great – they all LOVE their dresses!
