FI thought he wanted a white gold or titanium ring, and I wanted us both to have yellow gold but wanted him to have a ring he liked, and was happy for him to have white gold and me to have yellow gold 🙂 But when we went to try on rings just to see what we like on, he really loved the yellow gold on and decided he wanted that 🙂 We will be getting the rings from different stores though so not quite matching

@sherryberry:  Thats too bad.  Maybe you can try to really petition on this one?

FI was really picky about his ring but I was really happy he even wanted one!  He wanted it in silver and wanted small diamonds.  Ours don’t match exactly but they are on the same theme sort to speak.  Most people do not have matching bands anymore.

If I was in a bad mood I would try to make him settle for a ring I liked best!  Try to reason with him if possible.  I don’t think its too early to look at rings either.  The earlier you look the more likely you are to find what you really want and get a deal on it.

Definitely try and have a conversation about it.  I really don’t understand the whole “our rings have to match…” mentality.  That was much more common a long time ago.  My mom and I were just talking about this, back in the 70s and around then it was very common for couples to get matching bands, it’s not like that anymore.  More power to you if you happen to both like the same style, but I say go for what you want!  It’s YOUR ring, it should be what you want.  It doesn’t make the marriage mean any less if your rings don’t match, in my opinion it’s more of a big deal if you are “settling” for a ring that you don’t love!  Hopefully he’ll be open to talking about it, good luck!

@sherryberry:  Lol.  Either way I hope you guys can come to an amicable solution.
