I told FI’s brother yesterday that he will be wearing TOMS for the wedding (FI’s request… which I really like the idea). FI’s brother sneered and said ‘I have to wear TOMS? What about black high top Converse?’ I said ‘No, this is OUR wedding. You can wear Converse to your own wedding.’ He sneered again and said ‘Well, what about green converse.’ At which point, I politely said ‘I WILL go Bridezilla on you if you make me.’ My dad chuckled and said ‘Yeah, I don’t think you want that.’
This was all in a semi-joking manner on my part… but he was really serious. I never expected this from a groomsman… Anyone else have difficult groomsmen?

Nope, I’d let your Fiance work it out with the groomsman since your Fiance is the one who picked out the TOMS 🙂

I think you did the right thing making it a joke. Maybe in a week or so, you can have Fiance confirm with his brother. If you want to compromise, you can tell him that he’s more than welcome to change into whatever shoes he wants after the ceremony & formal pictures.

I’m in this situation currently (yeah, jumping on a year later, lol). One of our best men doesn’t seem to care about the fact we’re getting married–he doesn’t get along with anyone else in the wedding party (even though we all know each other/been good friends for years)…I don’t understand why he’s being this way and it’s stressing me out! 🙁

- Wedding: July 2013 - The front lawn of our church
One of our Groomsmen never got his suit. We asked him and reminded him soooooo many times but he never did it. The week of the wedding he told Fiance that he was just going to “borrow a grey suit from a friend.” He thought that it would be fine for his suit not to match everyone else’s. We ended up just being one Groomsmen short in the wedding.

Are you and your Fiance paying for the TOms?
