- Wedding: June 2014
We will be holding an at home reception this August (a couple months after our destination wedding). There will be about 100 guests attending and we have finally picked our venue!
Our venue is actually a restaurant that is perfect for us – it’s contemporary, new and has 36 ft ceilings with floor to ceiling glass walls on two sides. There is a beautiful abstract piece hanging down from the ceiling which incorporates lights too. The event planner has told us that in the past, weddings didn’t need to use large centerpieces beacuse the place itself is already pretty.
However, I love flowers, so we were thinking of doing low, simple & elegant centerpieces – maybe like a table runner of candles and flowers. If we do this, it would be tricky to have only one person take home the centerpiece at the end of the night. My Fiance is big on technology and thinks it would be nice to have a digital frame on each table throughout the night with a slide show of photos of our destination wedding and baby photos, etc. Whoever wins the centerpiece can take home the frame and upload their own photos in the future!
If you were attending our reception, would you prefer to:
a) take home a larger floral centerpiece
b) digital frame
c) other (please suggest!)
Thanks for your help!
