Sandals is expensive, and you have to be in a concierge category just to get room service. I think there are some adult only resorts that offer a better value.

@kjanet2001: I think you should keep it and get a less expensive room.  The rooms are all nice at Sandals so why pay so much extra when even the cheaper rooms are super nice?  Plus you will likely be out of the room most of your time anyways.  I think we are going to Sandals in Antigua as well.  I’ve heard amazing things about it.  My friend went there for her Honeymoon in 2010 and LOVED it.  Rants and raves about the food, privacy, night life, etc.  Let me know if you want any more info.

We are doing Sandals in Jamaica in a suite that comes with a butler for 1 week.  It is def pricey at 4k.  I am normally a very frugal person so i figure that for once in my life i am just going to go all out and enjoy being pampered for a week.

I think it depends on what you want.  There is a reason i bought my dess off of craigslist and am doing so many DIY projects.  You have to decide what is important to you.

@kjanet2001: Hey there…I would love to someday go to Saldals Antigua, but it was out of our price range too.  My Darling Husband and I went to Sandals Royal Bahamian and love dit!  We got a butler room in the Royal Village…I believe our suite was named the honeymoon royal villa suite.  I could be wrong on the exact name!  I can’t say enough good things about this resort.  They have a private island which is amazing!  If you get a butler room, you can have a palapa reserved for you everyday, which is what we did!  The royal villa was super secluded and had 3 “secret” pools that the rest of the resort didn’t seem to know about.  All in all, with flights and everything, I believe we paid about $5500.  We’re flew from Denver, so flying anywhere for us tends to be timely/costly.  Our room was definitely on the high side of the price range for this resort, so if you are wanting to stay under $6k, it’s easily done there!

*Edit*  One thing I will say, in regards to the bee who said you’ll hardly be in your room…That’s true, unless you are unfortunate enough to encounter bad weather, like we did.  In which case, we were extremely happy that we chose a nicer room level.  While the rest of the resort was being blown around by hurricane winds, we were enjoying our nice suite in the villa section….that had a wonderful natural wind barrier around it.  We could play in our pool and enjoy the day while everyone else was walking around in sweatpants and sweatshirts…so, in our case, it definitely was worth it to pay for a nicer/more pampered room.
