He’s outright said he won’t participate in wedding related activities if you’ll be there. 

What. The. Actual. Fuck.

You are the BRIDE and 1 of the only 2 people that matter here. Why does he even WANT to be a groomsman given his blatant dislike for you?

I have to say, this seems like an occasion where FI needs to just say outright “If you cannot treat my future wife with respect and support our marriage, I don’t think it’s appropriate for you to be in the wedding party.” Presenting a united front and making it clear this is coming from HIM is the only way the friend MIGHT get the message he needs to change his tune WRT you.

Unless this is a Love Actually situation and he’s secretly in love with you 😉

TLDR; Feel free to give him the big ol’ boot

futuremrspalmer :  In this case, I’d definitely kick this guy out of the wedding. No one should be involved that doesn’t love and support the two of you. And this guy obviously doesn’t. He’s been warned time and again to treat you with respect, and he hasn’t.
