I’ve got a decision to make. We are not doing a first look and my Fiance doesn’t want to see me until I’m walking down the aisle (that’s also my preference). About half of our guests will be staying at the venue (it’s also one of our hotels)- it’s a very small hotel/inn. The ceremony area and pool are right outside of the bridal suite (our venue is outdoors). The property’s other suite (so the ideal spot for groomsmen to get ready b/c it’s the only other suite) is right next door to the bridal suite. Our photographer will do getting ready pics of the girls inside the bridal suite, and can take formal pics of the bridesmaids outside, and there’s no problem with pics of the guys inside or outside either. But there’s a slight problem for getting pics of me (w/bridesmaids or solo), dressed & ready, before the ceremony- our guests will be right there and so might the groom and I don’t want everyone to see me before the ceremony.
If you think only the groom seeing me is a problem, we could potentially make him & the guys smash into a smaller room to get ready on the other side of the property (which seems like it’d mess up his getting ready experience) or try to block his windows while I’m taking pics (but that sounds like it’s risky).
If you think that at least half our guests seeing me is a problem, we can do the formal pics of me and the girls outside after the ceremony (photog says it shouldn’t take more than 20 mins for that part) during cocktail hour when we’re doing all the other pics anyway. Because, even if we took pics of me outside way before guests would be arriving for the ceremony, the guests are staying on the property and will be in the pool, hanging out on the deck, and have a full view of me taking pics outside. (our venue is outdoors)
I’m tempted to let the guys stay in the 2nd biggest suite (so they can all have room and a good getting ready experience) and to just wait until after the ceremony for me to take any formal (not getting ready) pics by myself or w/my girls. What do you think?
