You should have the bridesmaid go to a bridal boutique and get measured. That way the person can advise her what size dress she should order.

When she measured her waist did she measure at her natural waist or around her largest part? A 39 waist to me sounds like she measured around the widest part of her stomach and that is not accurate. She should bend side to side from the waist and where the crease is should be wear she measures – it will be approximately 2 inches above her belly button. I feel like if she does this, she will likely get a much smaller waist size measurement that is in line with the other measurements….

I agree that she should get professionally measured – if you’re ordering online, a tailor/seamstress will do those measurements for her! If ordering with a bridal salon, have them do her measurements.  Then she should order for her largest section and order in.  That did sound like an awfully huge difference in size, so I’d be wary of that, as you are!
