It’s ok to have uneven sides, and to avoid the whole “who’s walking with whom” dilemma, you can have your groom and all the groomsmen stand at the altar and have your ladies walk in individually or in pairs.

If think it is ok to have his wife walk him down the aisle, but, if she is not actually part of the bridal party, then I don’t think it is fair to tell her what to wear.

@beeandrashid:  I don’t see why not- it is YOUR wedding 🙂

For the sake of aesthetics, I’d probably have all the men at the altar, and each BM walk in solo (no spouses) just to keep it streamlined, but if you have a particular image in your head about how you want it to look, stick with it!  Either way, at the end of the day you’ll be married and it won’t matter who walked with whom or in what order.  Small potatoes lady, don’t let it stress you out!

@beeandrashid:  Nope!  But I did get married last month so I completely understand how you feel.  My MIL demanded even sides, she said it HAD to be that way.  So, when it came time at rehearsal to figure out all the logistics, I told her to handle it 🙂  No stress darling, no stress at all!

I think it’s fine to have an uneven wedding party – I have two maids of honor, so a total of 6 bridesmaids and 5 groomsmen. The best man is excited because he gets to walk down the aisle with 2 bridesmaids during the recessional! (One on each arm! lol) That was the best way for us to include everyone who is important to us. I say, if your FMIL wants you to include both of your FI’s brother, then do it! It’s really important in wedding planning to make sure everyone feels included… weddings are totally not worth hurting relationships with any family members over!

Also, can’t believe you’re getting married in Westminster, MD – that’s where my aunt and uncle live! Small world!! 🙂
