I wish I could play! I love dining rooms and mine is currently under renovation. What do you have so far?

I love your dining room! I think it’s complete. The only thing I would consider would be curtains but theyre not really essential.

sarathemermaid :  I think it looks great! Definitely need window treatments though. I think roman shades would be perfect for that space – you won’t have to worry about long curtains behind the bench and then you can ditch the minis and verticals.  Blinds.com runs sales all the time so you can get inexpensive ones that are great quality.

eta: do the other windows in your house now have trim either? A carpenter can do a simple frame around the windows to dress them up a big too. If you didn’t notice I’m big on windows lol.

If it’s in the budget I would either:

-replace the vertical and horizontal blinds with a roll up version the same color as the walls

– cover them with sheers

-add beautiful drapery panels on either side. Hang the drapes as high as you can- the top likely at the level where the angled wall meets the vertical.

The other thing I would do is add some color. It’s a bit too calm and relaxing. I would probably replace the two small art pieces with one large one, and add some accent pillows to the bench.

Curtains for sure! And I would consider changing the flowers in the case to more colorful flowers. It’s just a bit too dull for my taste but I’m a fan of pops of color so might just be me! Accent pillows for the bench would be cute too! Id go for blue and white pillows perhaps to tie in the wall art work! Although tbh, I think the wall pieces are too small for the wall. I think something larger would look much better and more proportionate. I’d consider either a colorful painting or a large mirror piece (like those mirror mosaics and such you find at home goods) as that will make the room seem a bit larger and less enclosed too.

ETA: I would also do chiffon curtains personally. I think an opaque fabric will make the room feel even tighter.
