Ppl don’t want to have to get up and stand in those god awful lines . So plated is more classier and nice for a formal wedding. I hate to stand in line in my nice dress with heels on and they call u up by table so.it takes FOREVER for your table number to be called. And when i finally sit down to eat, other ppl are just finish eating . So it throws off the timing. Everyone just needs to seat down and eat at the same time. Plated at my wedding for sure

I think buffets are great!

. I have been to many formal weddings and buffets seem to be what people ae happier with.
The one wedding sit down dinner I went to did not fair so well in the opinions of the guests. But I have heve never heard complaints from guests at weddings where buffet’s were served.
This may be a regional thing? But I for one feel my guests will be quite happy with the buffet we will be offering.
Maybe our guests are more accustomed to the seated dinner and would be happier with that but I have to say that your experience wuth buffets and long lines has not been my experience.

In my experience, it’s actually PLATED dinners that run behind and create a distance between those who get food first and last, especially with multiple courses. And the plated dinners are actually cooler, because they set them on the plates early instead of keeping them in the warm pans. Really, it’s quite terrible.
That, and I don’t necessarily love that side of squash that will go to waste on my plated dinner (it’s not like you can scrape it off and put it back in a pot to take home/give to the homeless shelter), but I’ll gladly take an extra helping of green beans.

I prefer buffets as a vegetarian. I get to pick what I want and leave what I don’t.
