Hi fellow bees!
I’m looking for ideas on what to serve for dinner (sit down style) for my barn wedding. We want it to be fun, yummy but not too expensive! We have a decently conservative budget but I don’t want to serve the same old, same old. Any ideas?

@bee55: Could you do gourmet pizza? I’ve always thought that would be super fun!

@bee55: We are having a rustic, country dinner and we just had our tasting last night which was awesome! Our caterer is big on farm to table and only uses local, seasonal items so our next September wedding will have the following:
- Salad: Mesclun greens, granny apple slices, candied pecans, gorgonzola, red onion, apple cider viniagrette
- Entrees: Cider braised chicken, sirlion in port wine reduction and mushroom demi glace, roasted pumpkin and sage brown butter pasta
- Sides: we are undecided about sides but might pick something a little traditional such as roasted garlic mashed potatoes, unsure of which vegetable
We have not decided on appetizers because there was so many good ones we can’t pick, LOL! But we have a lot of time …

- Wedding: October 2011 - Bed & Breakfast
BBQ…. not bbq sandwiches, but something like beef brisket and pulled pork with mac & cheese, corn bread, green beans, etc. Pasta/italian could also work well and should be reasonably prices.
