My fiance and I are taking a cruise to Bermuda for our beach wedding, along with about 40 guests and we are leaving from the Port of Baltimore. My fiance’s parents would like to throw a “bon voyage dinner” in place of the rehearsal dinner the evening before we set sail, since we won’t be doing a traditional rehearsal. My fiance and I live in Baltimore, but both sets of our parents live in upstate New York. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions of a restaurant that we would be able to have a party in for a reasonable price or maybe just doing drinks and heavy appetizers for all of our guests who will be coming from far and wide to join us on our destination wedding. Our wedding is not until summer 2011, but I would like to get ideas now so that I can start looking at places and getting some ideas ahead of time, so that we are not trying to pull stuff together at the last minute. Has anyone ever reserved a private space in any reasonably classy restaurant for a decent price in Baltimore? Where do people typically do rehearsal dinners around here? Any ideas would be amazing! Thanks in advance!

I am a Baltimore Bride and my parents are from Upstate NY as well! My wedding is this Sept and we are having our rehearsal dinner/out of towner cocktails/light apps at Langerman’s in Canton. They have a second floor with separate room and bar area. Other choices in Baltimore could be Tabrizi’s classy/casual on the water, Little Havannna…more open/casual but they will host party events, The Wine Market, Nick’s Fishouse..VERY BALTIMORE/CASUAL..n the water, etc. PAZO in Fells Point has space. Check out places in Little Italy too. I know Amicci’s has an upstairs area to seat at least 40 people and VERY reasonable prices. I found it a little difficult to find places that have adequate space! Good Luck!

Um, I seriously love Woodberry Kitchen, it is amazing. I have no idea if they do private parties, but they’re a bit pricey. So delicious though… yum.
My only suggestion is that friends of mine had their wedding reception at Pazo’s, and it was pretty nice – perhaps check into them? Obviously if they’ll do a wedding reception for 100 people, they can do private parties! (Duh just saw that ktanney4 also suggested this)
