We are having approximately 100 people at our wedding and reception. We are serving a buffet dinner and doing a cocktail hour with appetizers. We are renting plates, flatware, and glasses. How many sets of flatware, and how many dinner plates and cups should we rent to accomodate 100 people? I’m thinking 150, maybe 175?
These are the little details that keep me awake at night.

Just to clarify–I’m curious about how many plates, etc to rent for the dinner ONLY, not including the cocktail hour or serving of the cake.

If you are doing a buffet, people may go back for more. So definitely get more plates. Can’t tell you how many though, 150 sounds fine I guess. People should keep their cups so I would just get enough of those, maybe a few more “just in case”. Flatware? People drop those things like crazy. You’re going to need extra. Especially since most will not save their fork for cake.
