A person CAN get a YG ring dipped/plated in rhodium, and when it is brand new it will not look odd or cheap. However, all plating wears away over time, and rhodium over YG wears faster than most. It will likely begin showing yellow (much moreso than a WG ring that was plated) relatively soon after it was dipped. The more you wear the ring, the faster it will happen (skin chemistry also matters, and it wears faster on some people than on others). It is not a permanent solution, because there is a fee associated with replating the ring, and it will add up quickly over time. I am generally of the opinion that if you do not like the setting colour of the ring, you should have the setting made in the metal colour of your choice. If you wear the ring regularly, it will likely end up being less expensive in the long run than replating several times a year, every year.

No I don’t wear it every day as my job is very hands on. I do know that a lady on reception in work is white gold and everyday and she gets her set rediped everysix months

Yes you can dip yellow into rhodium which looks just like white gold and if you decide you don’t like it, it Can be remoces. I did it with my old engagement ring and wedding band from my first marriage. It looked beautiful

Mine took two years before I had to redip it. It depends on your skin. It never looked cheap or showed yellow through until two years later and even then it wasn’t that noticeable. Some people it’s six months, some longer.

I have had my white gold e-ring for 6 months now, and there is no need to redip at this point.
