I was going to use weddingmapper.com but ran out of time. You could check into that though and see if you like it.

I did the design and got it letterpress printed with the rest of my invitations. It was pretty easy to do — I just followed Mrs Peony’s tutorials here: Part 1 and Part 2. Mrs Hibiscus has a map-making tutorial for Powerpoint here.

i used idoweddingmaps.com and it was really easy, fast and the maps are really cute!  you can have them print them or you can print them at home.  I printed at home so that I could use the paper that matched my invitations.

I’m using an Etsy vendor.  $35 and I don’t have to fuss with Powerpoint or learn Illustrator! 🙂

I used MS Publisher. I did a screen print of a google map and traced it in Publisher with a line tool and used the same tool to show the driving route. Then I used a little clip art of a cake for the reception location and a cross for the church. Put in "H’s" for the hotels and "P’s" for parking. I used font similar to my invitations and I had them printed at Office Max for under $20 in B&W (4 maps per letter size paper) and I thought they looked really nice.

I just designed our directions map last night and it took no more than 15 mins.  I simply take a map off of google maps and draw straight lines of applicable streets in powerpoint on top of the google map.  Once satisfied, delete the map and voila, a custom direction map.

A Custom invitation studio can create custom maps. If you order the complete invitation set, often times it is a small up-charge to add a custom map. If you are not ordering the entire set usually a map can be created to match your existing invitations for a flat or hourly fee. Typically for a traditional map done in Illustrator with icons, etc. the design time is around 2 hours.

Happy planning!
