(Closed) Disagreeing over seating

I think assigning tables is a good idea. It sounds like you have a smaller group, so open seating could work, but why take the risk of separating groups when you’re not really gaining anything?

I don’t think that you can assign seats for some but not all of the guests. I think it might create confusion among guests and some might feel slighted. My personal preference is for assigned seating because it can be awkward to scramble for a seat, especially if you don’t know the other people. But that said, I think you can do it either way–assigned or unassigned–as long as you do the same thing for all guests.
