Honestly, doesn’t sound like you even like the new budget friendly ring.

Why is the BF insisting that it has to be a designer setting?  I think you could go online (either Blue Nile or somewhere) and get something really cool that fits within your new budget.

Just a thought…

Anything can look “engagement”….just look at all of the stunning gemstone rings here on the Bee!  It’s the meaning that is more important, but you also have to love it.  If a halo is really what you’ve dreamed of I’d go with a smaller halo…the halo adds to the finger coverage anyway. But if having a bigger stone is really that important to you right now, go with the preloved.  It is definitely a gorgeous ring.

Why is your bf calling all the shots here? He isn’t wearing it.

@kimmo416:  Are you open to getting the setting you want and setting it with a different stone?

CZ, moissanite, or a sapphire are some options.

That’s what I would do and in fact am doing. We were going to buy a 1.5 ct oval diamond that I was in love with but with a baby on the way we decided it just wasn’t that important right now. I was disappointed for awhile but I am very happy with what we are doing now!

Honestly, I prefer it over a halo.  I’m a little halo’d out.  It’s beautiful

@kimmo416:  I completely understand.

Im not sure exactly what your budget is but I went to diamond’s direct and the diamonds there were about 30% less and they have designer trunk shows where they offer huge discounts on settings.

I would say see if you can find something like that in your area? If not, I really love the ring you posted. It is beautiful!

Really, at the end of the day you will be wearing it so you should love it.

That being said, I think that preloved Verragio is gorgeous. If it were me I would flaunt that ring everywhere and no one whould know it was pre-loved or budget or whatever. OR you could brag about the amazing deal you got! That’s what I do with mine and people are usually more impressed with what we saved then what we could have spent on something similar.

I think you may need to get used to the idea of the budget change before you set out looking again because right now its colouring how you view the rings within your budget. Instead focus on the style and setting you want and then find a diamond that works with it and makes you happy, whether it’s pre-loved, vintage or antique, etc.  Then you can wear it with pride and it will look even more amazing because it makes you light up.

I can honestly understand your position, I also desighned my ring and then FI father lost his job and he had to give his parents money so my ring got put on the back burner… I waited over a year for my ring so i can see your position. I think you need to understand his position, I’m sure he’s dissappointed that you wont get the ring you want. I think the ring in the picture is beautiful and you may be seeling, yes but in 5 years his gonna owe you BIG time lol so i say deal with it for now.
