@laceydoilies:  That sucks, but your wedding will still be wonderful. I am not having a wedding party at all (bridesmaids etc) because of all the drama that can come with it.

Aww, I’m so sorry you’re in this sitation! I hope she can make it!

And if she can’t, maybe she can come for a visit the weekend before to hang out with you/support you?

@laceydoilies:  I’m a teaCher and would be able to take off for a wedding. If I was in one. I’ve known others who had been able to as well. Weird that she won’t try. That sucks.

I’s think she could take a sick day, even with an LTO. No?

How far does she live from your venue? Could she join you guys later for the reception after she’s done school for the day if she does have to work?

I’m a teacher as well, but I don’t know how it works as far as the subbing end of it goes, especially in Canada. She doesn’t have any kind of personal days or the right to request a certain day off? I know in my school, we’ve had another sub step in when a long-term sub couldn’t be there one day.

That really sucks. You seem genuinely nice and supportive of her, so I can understand why you are feeling really down about it. I hope it works out for both of you, but I know the waiting and not knowing is stressful!
