That’s crazy that they messed up so completely! Sorry you have gotten such crummy service. Hopefully they can make it right in the end.

I’m so sorry! We had a very disappointing experience with Blue Nile recently (my first post is actually almost the same exact title) but were lucky enough that the purchase hadn’t been processed and we were able to walk away. Their customer service really seems to be slipping. In your case I certainly wouldn’t trust them further and would demand to be refunded and go elsewhere. It does put a damper on things, but it’s temporary once things work out! We ended up going local and I was so convinced I wouldn’t like something else as much or we’d end up paying so much more but we had a much better experience and I love the new ring more than what I had ordered from BN. It was a fun experience and made up for the all the run around with Blue Nile.

@peachvodka233:  It’s time to get all of your money back and find a new jeweler, who is not overpriced and incompetent. Sorry this happened to you!!

Wow.  That leaves me speechless.   I’d get a refund and take my business elsewhere at this point.

Wow that’s horrible! I would be livid! I’ve never heard of anything like this happening at Blue Nile before. Definitely get a refund and take your business elsewhere.

We were very tempted to go with James Allen, BN, BE, etc….but there seems to be so many bad stories like yours. There is also lots of good stories of getting rings for great prices….but we just couldnt overlook the bad. Get your refund! Go somewhere in town that you trust and takes your ring seriously and not just as another number.

Thanks for sharing your story, I think it is important to hear about these….I feel like so many reviews online are filtered.

I think you’ve given them enough chances to make this right. You should get your money back and start over. Imagine sending your ring back for repairs when you already don’t trust them.

Brilliant Earth is very pleasant to deal with and I can also recommend James Allen.

Wow, I’m so sorry to hear what you guys have had to go through. That sounds very disappointing, not to mention stressful, especially when you spend good money on a ring.  I would get a refund if you no longer want to deal with them.  There are other online dealers that are great to work with as other people have said.  This should be a happy and exciting experience, not one that is fraught with worry and stress.  You should be able to open that box and be amazed by the ring you picked out.  We almost went with an online jeweler too but in the end, we had my new ring made by a private jeweller in our city who was wonderful and did exceptional work. We didn’t want to deal with the stress of having to ship anything back or anything getting lost in transition.
