I am a size 14 and am going to walk down the aisle in a month and a half at my biggest. I have tried to work out..I am but I am not going to lose anything that will make a huge impact in 50 days to my overall look.
I felt the same way about my E pics and loved the ones that were taken from a top angle. I immediately skimmed over the ones that were dead on or from the side. It is tough-to face yourself in the mirror and all the things you love and hate about yourself…
In your pics, I don’t see what you see, but Ithink us girls are our own worst critic and enemy. The pictures are gorgous, and women come in all shapes and sizes…
all of us can’t be a size 2!

@Miss Root: haha–I love we basically said the same thing! 🙂 🙂 🙂

- Wedding: July 2012 - The Gables Inn, Santa Rosa, CA
I went through the same thing when I got my pics– I felt like I was the size of a house!!!
There was one in particular where I’m sitting on my FI’s knee kind of 1/2 hugging him, and I swear, I look twice his size. I actually asked the photographer to delete it from the site it bothered me so much.
Honestly though– now that some time has passed, there are several shots that I love.
FWIW, I think the last photo of you is adorable! And I love the one where you’re kissing him and your hand is on his cheek.

I think they look great! See if your photographer will airbrush the things you don’t like to make them less noticible. That’s much easier that trying to redo a photo shoot! You can photoshop off 10 pounds in 5 minutes if you have some practice 🙂

The way you described it I was expecting you to look huge but you look great!
I like the first 3 and the one of you guys at your favorite spot best. Any of those would look nice on save the date. Don’t be so hard on yourself girl!

I think your photos look great!! If she took 300+ and you havent seen them yet, then you probably have nothing to worry about for your STD’s. I’m in the same boat as you, hoping for some good shots. We just recently had ours done and it was a hot and humid Florida morning. I was sweating, my hair was going crazy from the humidity, I’m sure my makeup was running. We took a few at the beach, and it was crazy windy, my hair was in my face almost the whole time…ugh!! You had fun, right? As long as you had fun, then you’re bound to find at least one photo you love 🙂 I hope you feel better as she finishes more of them! I am currently excited/dreading mine!!! lol

I think that sometimes, we are our own worst critics. I haven’t even seen my wedding pictures yet, but am convinced I’ll be hideous in them.
I can only see two of the pictures on my iPad, but I hope you’ll get a nice reality check from the hive. You came to the right place!

I think your photos look nice! We are all so critical of our own. We just got ours back too and I am not super crazy about mine either. Thought our photographer would coach us more than she did, so a lot of ours look the same. I am just hoping that the wedding pics come out better. Ask some trustes friends about which photo to use for you save the date, I bet they will have some favorites and be happy to help.

I can sooooo relate to this post… I had gained over 60 lbs last year due to illness and so when we had our engagement pics done I was excited – that was until I saw the results!!! I had convinced myself in the waiting to pick them up period that i was NOT really THAT big or fat!!! I had a terrible time picking out an outfit and really did not like what I chose! then when the pics did come in I HATED them…. I could not believe how big I was.
Here’s the thing, I beat myself up for weeks over them and finally after much coaching from my Fiance I posted a few of them on FB (we only have close family and friends on there anyways!) and emailed some to my close friends.. they all loved them and the thing that we forget is that they don’t sit there and say “Oh my goodness look how big she is etc etc etc” they are looking at the pictures of how happy you are and how cute they look.. they see you like this all the time so a picture is not going to make them think anything different about you.. it is YOU that has to change your image of yourself.
No I don’t like what looks back at me in the mirror but there is only me that can change that mentally or physically….so be positive and happy about who you are becuase your Fiance thinks your amazing and that is what really matters 🙂

the more I looked at my engagement pictures the more I liked them… I am bigger than you. Look at them again in a few days.

Honestly, I think it’s the photographer. You look beautiful. The angles and lighting she chose are not very flattering. Also her editing is not doing the pictures justice. Could you have them redone with somebody else?

I think they look fabulous! You guys look so happy! I actually clicked on the link, and then closed the window that popped up because I thought, “Oh, this must be someone else’s pictures, cause this girl doesn’t look big at all.” I had to double check the names in your link before I realized I was looking at the right pictures. You look great!

The first picture looks nice.

@Jamie42003: I think there is some truth to this. Ive looked over them again and like a few of them a little more than i did at first! I suppose the initial shock of “goodness look at my chins!” threw me off. My Fiance loves me as is, and Its hard accepting that from time to time.
I also agree that they are going to be a bit of a kick in the pants in the sense that they motivate me to make some life changes with regards to being healthier 🙂

I looked at them and thought “what in the world is she talking about?” I really love your pictures. They are very beautiful. 🙂 Don’t be too hard on yourself!
