I have not purchased a dress yet, but had one in mind. I recently fell in love with the mikaella 1406. I found one store in my state that sells Mikaella. I called and they require an appoitment, which I scheduled for today. When I made my appointment last week, I told them I was only interested in trying on one dress and I wanted to make sure that me being a size 16 that it wouldn’t be a problem. I was reassured that they will have the dress ready and waiting and that I will fit in to with out a problem. I even called and spoke with someone else and confirmed that everything would fit.
Fast foward to today. I get there and there is a line out the door. I have to wait 10 minutes just to get in. (not a big deal) I get to counter, fill out some paper, and then was told they will be right with me. We walked around (me, my sister, and my daughter) looking at dresses when the lady came back and said she was still looking for the dress. We were having fun looking around so it was fine.
She finally came back and said she was ready. She had the dress over her shoulder and it looked like a size 2! I said, I think you grabbed the wrong size, I was told they would have one that would fit me. She said that the manufacturers only send one dress, and the shop doesn’t get to pick the size. I told her again that I spoke with two seperate women who reassured me that the sample size would fit. She said they cater to women of all sizes and to just try it. I undressed and attempted to slip in to the dress, I was unable to get it past my thighs. Around the same times the women came back and handed me another dress by mikaella in a size 12 that she said was the same from the bodice down. I thanked her and she walked away… leaving my door wide open with me half naked.. and half way in a dress!
My sister took the dress off the hanger to help me in and the there was no zipper! My sister went to find Michelle (the women who was helping us) and my sister said she just stared at her and said OH. I know that they are just samples but I thought she would at the least offer some kind of clips or clasps (what ever they are called)
It sucks that I wasn’t able to get a real feel for the mikaella 1406 and even the alternative they offered me was broken which still didn’t give me a real feel. My sister had to hold the dress in the back so I could get a better idea of the fit. We were in the fitting room for about 20-25 minutes after Michelle left and no one ever returned to ask if we need help.
LOL on the plus side, I did fall back in love with my necklace and I think that if it was in my size and had a working zipper it would be perfect…:)… So here it is 2 sizes too small… and with no zipper! So what do you think? Should I just go for it and order it in my size?
