Ok so I don’t dislike all of them. I don’t think it’s my photographers fault at all if anything it’s the doctor who botched my eye surgery. The surgery left my eye looking like it’s completely closed. If we had time I wouldva waited till after my corrective surgery(which has yet to be scheduled) but he is in the military and will be leaving soon so alas we went through with the pictures. Out of about 60 pictures I only like 15 or so. The rest I just feel so ugly in it. I don’t know I’m just so upset. I wanted to have some really awesome pictures of us and the ones I like are great but are mostly far away and angled. I’m not sure why I’m posting. Guess I needed to vent. Anyone else have any similar experiences how did you make yourself feel better ?

What is the surgery that left your eye like that? Can eyelid tape and makeup tricks help until it is fixed?
I am really sorry Bee. All I can say is try to keep this in perspective. You will have an entire lifetime of pictures with this man! You don’t have to like every set.15 is plenty to like!! There are not that many times in life that you will be looking through those pictures. Enjoy your engagement. 🙂

lovelyruby : thanks. Well I had a tumor removed and it left my eye a tiny dropy so I had the muscle behind the eye shortened which ended leaving it looking worse turns out the issue was that I had so much extra skin there. I’ve tried tape but it doesn’t really help much. I guess it just made me feel worse when his mom commented on how my eye looks worse and that my eyes look sunken in. That really hurt. You are right tho I have a lifetime with my love. I was just hoping for nice photos he hates photos ahah so he only did these for me :).

That’s fortunate bee,but you said you like 15 so that’s not to bad at all. That’s more than enough to choose a few different ones to display, use for Save-The-Date Cards etc. Will you have the corrective surgery before the wedding? If yes, then I’m sure you will be looking great for your wedding photos, which will def make up for the lack luster engagement ones.
And your Future Mother-In-Law…Ruuuuuuuude!!

Ouch your mother in law is a cow! How rude. Once you have your lovely wedding pics I promise you won’t be thinking too much about the engagement ones. 15 is plenty to like, I really only look at one or two of my engagement ones now!

ElectroFish : I’m hoping too. You are right 15 is plenty to like. I love about two or three and plan on using those for the save the dates. I’m also going to request a mini session when he comes home for deployment so I can get comfortable with the new “eye”.
And ugh tell me about it she says crap like this all the time and neither my Fiance or I know how to react. I’m very sensitive to about my eye as I have a genetic disorder and was born with the facial deformity and well I know my eye looks bad but no need to point it out !

I didn’t even spend the money on engagement photos because I don’t see the point in the any way. That’s just my opinion lol. 15 is a lot of pictures still though. Also I have ptosis in one eye because of an eye surgery I had when I was a kid.

rosebudabw : that is an awful thing to say! Take no notice of her. It’s how you feel about yourself that matters. Don’t put yourself down.

Aww bee! You can always do a second engagement shoot. And even if you don’t, im sure you’ll look great for your wedding pictures!

rosebudabw : wow, she’s a special one. Boo on her.
Definitely think you can do a second shoot, you can also find someone good at photoshop, the important thing is you are in love and getting married:-)

Some people are so rude. You Future Mother-In-Law should keep her thoughts to herself.
If it makes you feel better, we haven’t used our engagement photos for anything and have barely looked at them since they were done two years ago. Focus on the wedding and don’t dwell on the negative 🙂
