@Lucky80710: I’m so sorry. LB said it well… I have one question that I didn’t see answered anywhere….

You said they did the wedding of two of your friends? How many images did they get? Have you talked to them since this fiasco to see how they were?

How is the quality of the 257 pics you DID get? I think she should refund you & apologize to you, especially after missing so much stuff. Sounds like you’ve nicely tried to get her to work with you. If it were me (unless all 257 pics were AMAZING), I might start looking into legal ways to get your pics or a refund. Take your photo contract to your lawyer & see if you have a case. I’m a photographer (I understand sometimes missing shots, but everything you said is inexcusable). She MIGHT still have them & just not want to give them up OR she may have already deleted them. I don’t think you expected too much either. I’m sorry this happened to you :(.

I’ve had a similar story with my photographer, i posted here earlier. And i don’t think i explained my self correctly cause i was/am upset.  But he missed soo  many formal shots, they were off centered, the lighting and poses where awkward at best.  I guess for what i paid i expected more also, now to make lemonade out of my lemons, thank God i have copywrights to my photos so i can start editing them myself.

I would be very upset if they missed the most important parts of the wedding. Also that doesn’t seem like a lot of photos for 6 hours. Close friends of mine and Fi’s got married back in May. They had 4 hours of coverage and got 600 something photos back on their cd. So sorry this happened to you.

So how many of them are blurry? To me, the 1st 2 look really blurry & the 3rd one is way too bright. If most of them are like this (blurry, too bright, etc), that’s NOT ok (actually if ANY of the 257 are like that, its not OK). I can’t understand why the photographer did this to you. I would definately try to pursue some type of legal action. I’m not sure what can be done if she’s in another country thou.

Do you have the copywrights to your pics?

Public Service Announcement: If you post about your photographer on Weddingbee, even if you do not name them, there is a good chance someone will see this, either know who your photographer is from their work or do some research and let them know. This happened to me and it was very embarrassing because I had not resolved the issue with her yet, and while I had my conflicted feelings about the photography, I really liked her as a person and respected her work and so it was very awkward. Don’t forget this is a public forum, and especially if you are posting your pictures, it is far from anonymous!

To answer your question: I think we can all have too high of expectations sometimes. I’m sorry you were unhappy. I would be frank with your photographer and see what she can do to help.

Okay, looking at these with a professional eye, the first picture is out of focus and she tried to compensate by cranking up the black slider to make it look sharper, which is why your eyes look black. The second picture is a beautiful one, only like you said, if it printed funny. Its small for me to tell, but if it prints fuzzy, that means it must be out of focus as well. The only reason for the third picture to look like it does is if it was OVEREXPOSED at some point. The information that was once the beautiful detail behind the altar is completely gone because the picture was blown.

So now here is my question, was there some kind of light back there? IF there was a BRIGHT light in those now white areas, she may have had a difficult time getting a proper exposure there without way underexposing you (the bride and groom), in which case, its understandable. It does look really blown though even for that and the peoples faces in the back are too bright so either way she should have gone at least slightly darker in camera. I’m SO sorry this happened to you, you may not have paid the most money in the world, but you paid enough that you should have gotten better quality than this 🙁
