@katebell17:  If you are going to require them to use that person, then yes, you should cover the cost.  If you give them the option to do their hair and makeup themselves, then no, don’t cover the cost but have it as an option.

I think it’s okay. I’m paying for my bridesmaids make up (also $75) but i’m not paying for dresses or shoes. Maybe the can do thei own? Or find their own MUA? I don’t think you should have to conduct another search. It’s really up to you, don’ beat yourself up about it.

You should let them have the choice for hair and makeup, or pay for it if you require it.  I would also be a little grouchy about shelling out $75 for that on top of a dress, travel, hotel, gift, etc etc.

@katebell17:  Is one of your girls or maybe another family member good at doing hair?  Maybe they can help them with the hairstyle you want.

Like pps, I think you should cover the cost of the hair.

Perhaps just let them know you’re only suggesting this hairstylist, since it’ll be convenient to pay someone who will come to the venue?  Let them know you need to know by “x” date whether they’ll use her or not, then leave them on their own for hair.  $75 is actually a pretty standard rate for an updo/major hairstyling.

On another note, it sounds like you’re being a pretty reasonable bride about everything, so kudos to you!

Can you give them a picture of what you want their hair to look like and allow them to find a stylist they can afford?
