I agree… maybe you could tell them to search for their own MUA or hairdresser and be there on time. Once they research maybe they’ll decide to do it themselves or just end up using the one you suggested.

@katebell17:  If you want them to get their hair done, then you should pay for it.  Makeup should be optional, and if they choose to get it done, they have to pay for it.

I’m in the minority here but, speaking as a former bridesmaid, if my dress and shoes were covered for me I’d have no problem paying for my hair if you asked me to. Maybe it’s not “etiquette” but I think that being ungrateful is worse etiquette. I don’t understand why we can expect them to buy a dress, but expecting them to get their hair done is ridiculous. Who made this rule?

Etiquette may say that you should pay, but I think after what you’ve done to absorb costs you have a right to be a little irked that they’re making a fuss about hair. (BTW- My wedding is at noon and I found a salon to go to with no time worries … maybe you can find some “options” for them in the area so it’s less you telling them they have to see a specific person? Would that smooth things over?)
