Ohhh, no ….glad you put your foot down.  You do not need underage drinking in your home.  He needs to grown up.  And at age 21 he does not need to be hanging out with HS kids…….  You may need to ask him to find other living arrangements if his behavior continues……

The idea of him wanting to invite underage kids to a party with alcohol is disturbing.  You and your Fiance could have gotten in trouble legally for that since he wanted to do it at your home.  Sounds like enough of a reason to give him the boot out the door to me….lol    Hugz and good luck with it all…

I’m so sorry that you’re dealing with this.

I’ve never had a roomate like this, but a close friend of mine has, and believe me, it will only get worse. Eventually he won’t be paying for anything, he’ll be inviting those underage kids around to drink behind your back, and he’ll be mooching for anything he can get.

I would say pull the plug now before it gets to the point where you’ll need to get outside help (like the police.)

Good luck!

I would find a way to boot him as soon as possible. He’s gotten way too comfortable in your home and is taking advantage, and one of these days he’s going to go too far. Please don’t let it get to that point. You were nice to take him in in the first place, but you can’t babysit him forever.

One of you needs to sit down and tell him it’s not working out and that he has 2 weeks to find a new place. Sorry but when you agreed to have him living there you didn’t sign on for living in a pig stye and the toilet not being flushed. He’s not on the lease or anything is he?

@Potatoes: That’s good. I think a 2 weeks and out rule is being more than fair in this situation.

From whatI have learned being roommates ruins friendships. People think they can get away with more because they are living with their “buddy” who will let everything slide “because we’re friends”. I have lost so many friends because they became roommates and it just was too clashing of lifestyles (like I’m clean and they’re messy and we’d get into stupid fights and it ended always with resentment type of clashing lifestyles. Or the drink and I don’t and we would get irritated at eachother). I would say if you want to stay friends and not end up resenting eachother he needs a new living situation fast.
