  • Wedding: Disneyland - January 2016

We’re having a Disney wedding πŸ™‚ Although we’re going with a Wishes package, I really like the Escape because it includes a lot of things that would likely add up to about the same amount if you went through many other vendors. I know Disneyland also offers a Memories package which is for a much smaller group and cheaper, but I don’t know if Disney World also offers it. Still, it might be worth looking into.

kaysway:  Just so you don’t get the wrong idea, I LOVE everything Disney, which is why I originally wanted a disney wedding. I too wanted to go with the Escape package, and we looked at the Disney Resort in Hawaii. I contacted the Wedding Coordinator there, who got back to me really quickly (amazing customer service), but when I mentioned a couple of little things that I would like to have different, I was pretty much shot down and said the package comes as it comes, I can’t make any changes. As an example, I didn’t want chairs for the ceremony because its going to be a quick ceremony and I just wanted everyone standing around me, they said this wasn’t possible, I had to have the exact setup as described, nothing could be changed.

So just as a heads up that was my experience! I am now going with a different resort and I’m really happy with it!

We are doing a Disneymoon, albeit 6 months late.  I wanted a Disney wedding so badly, but Darling Husband nixed it.  I wanted to elope, just the 2 of us, but Darling Husband insisted on a church ceremony here since we have kids from previous marriages.  I would have loved a Disney wedding though!!!!!

We did a DCL wedding in July in Alaska (on the Wonder). It was fabulous! I know you were asking about a shore wedding, but if you have any questions about a DCL wedding, please let me know. We thought it was a great alternative with lots of Disney touches.

kaysway:  I love the idea of a Disney wedding and wish my very manly, military Fiance would get behind me on my enthusiasm for Disney. So do it! But if you do, my only suggestion is read what’s going on in the news lately, get your measels vaccines, and tell any potential guests the risks posed and suggest they get vaccinated now.

We are doing Disney World too but We are getting married in Cocoa Beach, FL on the beach to save a little money and we aren’t staying at Destination Wedding but near there at a resort hotel that we got a great deal on! The rest of the trip will be centered around Disney since we have 3 girls and our immediate family have many children as well. Its going to be one big family vacation!
