My fiance and I are trying to plan our honeymoon and really want to go to Disney. I was wondering if any bees could give me a few pointers and dish on how much you spent total for your honeymoon. Did you include a meal plan? What parks did you go too? Any details would be great!
Thank you in advance!

We haven’t been yet, but I’m in the process of planning. One thing we did — we rented points from a Disney Vacation Club (DVC) member for our room. DVC is basically a timeshare thing, and some members can’t use up all of their points, so they’ll “rent” them to you fairly cheaply. There are some brokers who will take out the middle man, but you’ll end up paying a little more. We got six nights at Animal Kingdom Lodge Kidani Village in a savannah view studio for $1254.
We’re not doing a dining plan — I did the math every which way, and the best we could hope for would be breaking even. If we just budget the same amount of money out of pocket, we can be a little more spontaneous and be able to order exactly what we want at the restaurants we make reservations at. With one plan you don’t get an included appetizer, but you do get a dessert. My Fiance and I are much more likely to order appetizers instead of dessert, so it makes more sense to pay out of pocket for meals. Allears.net has menus for all of the restaurants, so you can see how much things cost and if the dining plan works for you.

Commenting to follow. I’ve never been to Disney Land, I think a honeymoon would be the perfect time to go!

Also, disboards.com is a great resource. They have a subforum dedicated to weddings and honeymoons.

We’re going for 2 weeks and our hotel (port Orleans FQ) park tickets and plan came to £2,400 ($4,000). Our flights are £2,000 (premium) and we’re also going to universal and Kennedy space centre. Our total for 2 weeks will be around £6k-£7k (around $10,000)
A LOT of money- but totally worth it.

We’ve been to WDW many times. Total cost is so variable-it’s cost us anywhere from $500 for 4 nights to well over $4000 for 7 nights (not including airfare).
Time of year, on-site or off-site, where on-site, type of ticket media (park hopper, non-expiration, how many days…)
Meal plan or no? What type if you do want one.
Go here http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/ and you can plug in any options, any resorts, and keep changing threm to your hearts content to get some idea of what each would cost.
Also, keep checking the site–WDW offers room discounts or free dining whenever room bookings are not as high as they want.
Oh–I also recommend http://www.disboards . It’s a site like this one, only geared to WDW.

@futuremrsmaxwell2209: We spent 4 nights in Walt Disney World for our honeymoon. Prior to Disney, we spent 4 nights in Key West. We stayed at the Animal Kingdom Lodge in a Savannah Room view. The nightly rate was $230. We did not do the meal plan, as we were there during Food & Wine Festival.
We ordered room service 3 of the mornings and at at Boma one morning. Room service was fantastic, as we ate our breakfast while watching the animals roam. And Boma was one of the best breakfasts we had in Disney (together Darling Husband and I have been there a half dozen times now, we also love Kona Cafe for breakfast). We had one nice dinner at Jiko. This meal was absolutely fantastic!!! All of the restaurants at the Animal Kingdom Lodge are excellent. The rest of the meals we pretty much did in Epcot at the Food and Wine Festival.
All said and done with food, alcohol, hotel, tickets, wine demos, and tickets to the Merry Christmas Party we spent around $2,300 for the 4 nights.
There are many different ways/budgets to do Disney. You can relax and do the spas, play golf, or rent a boat. You can go park crazy. You can stay budget friendlly or go all out. It’s really all about what you want to do. And remember to let Disney know you are on your honeymoon and wear your button…we received free desserts with every meal this way. 🙂
