@FutureMrs86:  My family and I have stayed at 5 different disney resorts/hotels and the Caribbean was one. I was young then but I remember really liking it and we almost stayed there again the 5th time around. My mom really liked it and she is one picky lady (she’s an interior designer in Chicago and is very picky lol) I think they got a better deal somewhere else and thats the only reason we didn’t stay there. I do remember them having a good food deal too. Have fun!

We stayed there a few years ago and its pretty nice. Its nicer than all star and you don’t have to worry about walking a half mile to a bus stop. I do remember Darling Husband viscerally hating the pillows there.

I would definitely recommend upgrading to CBR. I used to work for Disney, so I spent a lot of time at both resorts. They are both nice for different reasons, but personally I prefer CBR. I’ve stayed at CBR 3 times and I highly recommend Barbados if you can get it. It’s close to Old Port Royale (The marketplace/food court), but it’s still relatively quiet. If you get someplace like Trinidad, you’ll be kind of farther away from everything, but if you prefer being more secluded, you might enjoy it. I personally love Old Port Royale. It is classified as a food court, because it has mostly quick serve counters, but they have a wonderful selection of caribbean food, as well as cheeseburgers and fries..etc. Every beach has hammocks to rock in, and the pool is pretty cool too. They have a great poolside bar, as well. I just love the atmosphere overall.

I’ve found the All Stars to be a bit of a crap shoot. I’ve stayed at Sports and Music, but I haven’t stayed Movies. Sports was nice, but it’s frequently booked for high school trips etc., so just be aware that it might be a little noisy. I personally prefer Pop Century to the All Stars, but I would definitely choose CBR over both.

If you have any questions about anything, please feel free to message me. I have a few Cast Member tips on vacation planning that I’d love to share with you! 🙂

@FutureMrs86:  I totally hear you on that. If we got off work before midnight, it was an early night! haha. I was attractions (The Great Movie Ride) at first, and then transfered to Merchandise. I know what you mean about liking them for different reasons. Each role was fun, but both could be quite stressful! If you could go back and do it again, what would you choose? If I knew then what I know now, I would have brought my car (ugh..those buses..haha) and tried to transfer to one of the hotels. Working in the park was just too overwhelming sometimes. One of my friends was merchandise at the Contemporary, and I was sooo jealous. haha

“I worked Christmas Day and I was sworn at and screamed at lol. That was by far the worst shift I have ever worked was on Christmas Day at MK!!!!”

The exact same thing happened to me! I was already incredibly homesick and everyone was so rude that day that I spent most of it crying in one of the storage sheds. 🙁

I was the same way about never wanting to see it again. I considered not going back for a while, but ended up going back 8 months later to meet up with my roommate from the program. We ended up having a great time. I don’t know if I’ll go back for my honeymoon, but I hope you have a wonderful time!
