Never went for a honeymoon but have lots of Disney experience and stayed at most of the deluxe hotels!

If you think you’ll spend a lot of time in the Magic Kingdom the Polynesian or Grand Floridian are the way to go.

Beach Club is great because you can stroll into the World Showcase to eat around the world.

For a resort centered trip I’d pick Animal Kingdom Lodge.  Feels like a world away.  You can view the savanna from your balcony.  And Jiko is an amazing restaurant.  Only downside is either bus or drive to all parks.

heatdisneybride :  Didnt go for my honeymoon, but i LOVED staying at Port Orleans Riverside. It was sooo beautiful! The grounds were lovely to walk around and you can either take the boat or the shuttle bus to the parks. Each building fits a handful of rooms and looks like a southern mini mansion on the edge of the water.

I also thought it was reasonably priced for being so nice. Its probably in the mid range/high mid range. The food on site i also thought was reasonably priced ($10-$12 for a quick service meal)

Disney regular and had a mini Disney-moon earlier this year. You’re going to have such a blast!

For hotels, I suggest Swan & Dolphin or something simple like Art of Animation, which is one of the value hotels but it’s a newer hotel. We usually stay at the value hotels because we spend so much time in the parks anyway!

When you book with a Disney hotel, you’ll get a bunch of perks:

  • anything you buy on disney property (parks for sure) can be sent for pickup at your hotel, so you don’t have to carry your souvenirs around all day
  • you can use the buses/monorail/even minnie mouse themed lyft rides (for an additional charge) to get around. the buses/monorail and boats are free
  • you can book fastpasses 2 months in advance

For dining, disney springs has a lot of delicious options. Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ is one of my favorites, it’s a nice casual spot. Their mac and cheese is INCREDIBLE. We enjoyed morimoto too!

In the parks, there are a lot of different dining options. Magic Kingdom has Be Our Guest, which is delicious and perfect for pictures. The buffet in Germany in Epcot is also delicious, as is Monsieur Paul, which is a super swank spot that’s upstairs in the France section of Epcot.

For more elegant dining, you should also look into the different hotels. I know that The Contemporary and Animal Kingdom Lodge have nice dining, and there’s a ‘hidden’ tiki bar at The Polynesian.

Be sure to ask for a “celebrating” pin that you can wear around the parks.

Sorry I rambled a little! I just get really excited about disney 🙂

The Grand Floridian is top notch. Hit up the spa once for me.
