I’m going to Disneyworld next week for the marathon weekend. It’s going to be me, Fiance, my sister, her Boyfriend or Best Friend, and my parents. We’re only going for three days and only technically have two days at the park. We’re not getting Park Hoppers, so we’re planning on going to MGM one day and Animal Kingdom the other. We’re staying at the Caribbean Beach resort.
I haven’t been to Disneyworld in over ten years! When we were younger, we wanted to go to all the “cool” chain restaurants, but now we’re grown-up foodies and Planet Hollywood is not going to cut it ;o)
Any suggestions for good places to eat at Disney? We won’t have a car, so going into Orlando is not an option. We could eat lunch at the parks (either AK or MGM) but dinner would obviously be in and around the resorts.
Also, any tips for “grown-ups” at Disney would be way appreciated :o)

No tips, but I am so jealous! I haven’t been since 1992.

Wolfgang Puck’s restaurant at Downtown Disney is commercial, but tasty. Too bad they closed Pleasure Island – it was the most clean and wonderful area for bars! The disney politeness and safety and you could just run around bar-hopping. They do have new shops in there, though. Have fun! And don’t walk too much before or after that marathon, woman!

Good luck and have fun!! I’ve been to Disney a few times and my favorite place to eat is Epcot Center at one of the ‘countries’ and second favorite is the night club area I think it’s called “Lagoon” something. There are shuttles to both of these locations from most hotels.

@MelissaBegins: We’re sad about Pleasure Island too! But we’re going to splurge on a cab to CityWalk at Universal and hit up Margaritaville on Saturday night :o)
And thanks for the tip on Wolfgang Puck’s restaurant…I’ll check that out!

I love Wolfgang pucks!!
Fun adult things to do…take a bus to the Boardwalk and go to Jellyrolls! It’s an awesome dueling piano’s bar!! And they recently made it smoke free 🙂
Food…AK has some awesome food. If you are looking for something quick, Flame Tree BBQ is pretty good. So is Yak and Yeti (awesome honey chicken!!).
MGM…rather Disnye’s Hollywood Studios DHS, has not a lot of great food. If you are looking to sit and eat, Mama Melroses is a great restaurant.
Feel free to PM me if you have any questions 🙂 We go at least twice a year. And congratulations on running the marathon!! I’m jealous!
