- Wedding: December 2013
I could really use some advice! I am planning on having my wedding at Salvage One in the west side of Chicago on December 28, 2013. The hotel is at the Westin downtown. I am in love with the reception site, but not the area where they have the ceremony. I was looking into holding my ceremony at a chapel in Tinley Park, a suburb south of the city (about a 35-40 minute drive). Many of my fiance’s family/friends is already living in the area, however, my family is traveling from California/Michigan. I also have some classmates living in the city or other surrounding suburbs.
I would imagine my family/out of state friends would stay at a hotel in Tinley Park (and save the 44 dollar parking fee downtown) Friday night, attend the ceremony in the afternoon, and then make the drive to the city for check in at the hotel downtown. The reception at Salvage One is a 12 minute drive from the hotel, which I am providing shuttle service.
My fiance has expressed how many of his family is excited about the wedding, and because we got such a good deal with the hotel, they were planning on staying the night downtown.
I was wondering if my guests (we’re looking at 180) would see this scenario happen, rather logistically sound? I could use some advice on this.
