I would talk to him about it. This is good practice for marriage and the kinds of compromises and budgeting decisions you will have to make down the road.

First of all RELAX!! It’s only a ring! Talk to your fiance, he will understand. Cancel the order asap…Can you post a photo of the ring or a description of it? We can try to help you find a very comparable one for much less!

If your wedding is next June, you have a LOT of time to save up for it..we bought both of our bands within 2 weeks of the wedding. So tell him you want to save up to purchase it in cash, versus charging it.

I would shop around you may be able to find that same ring cheape I know littman Jewelers often has 20-60% off sales and with men’s rings they usually have the same style everywhere and during holidays like this weekend  it’s an additional 10% just explain that jewelry is highly over priced and whyaspens more money when you can get it cheaper

Tell you Fiance and he will understand.  Is the ring 18K or 14K?  My husband ring is only 10K and it costed us about $600 (nicely design and very nice engraving).  Can you post a picture of the ring you order?  Can you make it less width and maybe thinner?  I don’t know why you don’t like Titanium.  Titanium is very light and extrmely strong!  If you don’t like the flimsy feel, you can order it to be wilder and thicker and it won’t look/feel cheap at all.  I know this because my husband made me 3 titanium rings (2 just plain titanium and the other one mixed with other alloys) (before we engaged).  Both plain titanium rings still look great after more than 8 years.

there’s no rush.  you definitely have time to shop around to find a ring that you are completely satisfied with.

Cancel it, but get the specs (particularly the mm width) and buy the same band for him online.  Guaranteed you’ll pay less than 300 for it online.

You need to be honest right now and not wait. He will understand. Tell him the truth. The longer you wait the worse it will be.

Good luck

@Mashiara:  Jewellery is always always always marked up in store.

Plus, with that savings… if the ring is a little big, just get it sized down to 10! Sizing a ring is about 50 bucks.

I would keep searching online for the same or a similar band, because you’ll probably find a better deal.  Check this place out, their prices are reasonable.  http://www.e-weddingbands.com/

How my Fiance and I are saving money on our rings (Well, my ring) is that I am getting it cast in sterling silver and dipped in white gold. He is getting his cast in 100% yellow gold. We are ordering both our rings from etsy (CleanCastingJewelry), and the total for both is less than $700.

Hope this helps!
