I have FINALLY found the most PERFECT venue for our wedding. YAY!! I am so excited. It’s BEAUTIFUL.
Luckily its just a rented room, so we can save costs on everything else. For example, the bar. We will be hiring a bartender, but I have no idea what alchohol to buy. Or the amount to buy.
I will be having a bottle of red and white on each table. But I do want more for the bar. (obviously, lol) There is about 80-90 guests. (6 being children)
What should I buy, and how much quantity wise?

If I were you, I would get a keg or 2 (will save lots of money ). Pick a bud light, miller lite, or coors lite for one…and than pick your Fiance’s fav for the other! Then, some different wines (great idea on putting them on the tables). 🙂 Good Luck!

Miller Lite and Bud Light are my picks!

I would get a few gallons of vodka (probably 4 to be safe), probably 1-2 gallons of rum, a keg or two of beer, and a few extra bottles of wine as a base.
Then get a lot of limes and lemons, soda water, bottles water, different types of pop, orange juice, and lemonade. Also, coffee and tea.
If you want to add more variety, get a gallon of tequila, gin, and brandy.

What I said probably makes me sound like an alcoholic but some people simply don’t like wine or beer… if your reception is less of a party (ie. not a whole lot of dancing and stuff), you can cut down, but I’d over buy to be safe and then you can always take the left overs home!

If it’s any help, there are a number of drink calculators online. Just put “drink calculator” into Google and pick one you like! Evite has a good one here that accounts for light, average, and heavy drinkers. http://www.evite.com/pages/party/drink-calculator.jsp’ defer=’defer
